PROVISIONS:
The House of Mercy provides food, clothing, healthcare, shelter and most importantly, love and security to the children in its care.

On average the Casa houses thirty children. The children are brought to the Casa by a representative of the DIF, Procuraduria de la Familia, of Coahuila (Family and Children’s Service Agency). The DIF has full authority over the deposit or removal of the children but does not provide any physical or monetary assistance.

A CHRIST CENTERED HOME:

Rather than a facility, the House of Mercy is a Christ-centered home with loving house parents and caregivers. The children, more often than not, come in distraught, afraid, angry and belligerent. But in this safe haven God’s love melts away the despair and they become happy, well-adjusted, loving children. At the House of Mercy children receive full medical and dental care. They attend public school, continuing, or in some cases, beginning, their education. Tutoring is available as needed. Group activities have included trips to the local water park, the circus, and picnics and swimming in the river at a beautiful ranch. And a Birthday Party is celebrated on the first Saturday of each month. Even those children who do not have a recorded birth date are able to celebrate a ‘special day.’ They faithfully attend church at Templo San Pablo Iglesia Metodista and participate in age appropriate church functions; i.e., Sunday school, youth worship, etc. At the Casa, devotionals are lead nightly and on Saturday mornings by the house parents. Families’ lives are time and again transformed as they attend the devotional time with their children during Saturday morning court-appointed visitations. And we have seen a number of families successfully and happily reunited.
